What sets us apart?

We focus less on the packaging and more on the quality of the product. All that posh logo, fancy packaging, cool dudes in bespoke aprons, beards and tattoos, just isn’t us. We do have a few beards and tattoos around the place, but to be honest they’re a bit of a poor show, and Debbie’s a bit shy.

What grind do I choose?

Depending on how you like to enjoy your coffee changes the grind that fits best. We offer different grinds so that the coffee is just right for your cafetiere, Aeropress or whatever innovative gadget is invented next. Click ‘Grind Guide’ to find what grind your beans should be. P.s If you're reading this on the ‘teas’ page then this will be no use but hopefully it'll get you a point on a pub quiz somewhere!

Who are we?

Well we're definitely not those posh blokes in fancy aprons, lifting their pinkies and drinking coffee, that's for sure. What is us though, is producing great coffee in a Black Bag. That’s what we do really well, and have done for a long time. And we say good because we had a look around and apparently everyone seems to say our coffee is great, or fantastic, or exceptional, or extraordinary. Well, obviously that’s for you to decide. So why not try something without all the fuss and experience no-nonsense good coffee?

No longer can you run out of, drop or lose your filter to a puff of wind. If you have both paper and metal you are covering both bases. Just rinse and re-use!

Is there any difference paper / metal?
We recommend you use both the metal disk and paper filters based on your mood and effort levels! The perma-filter produces a "fuller" bodied drink because more "stuff" comes through the filter (oils and coffee particles or whatever). You might be able tell the difference side-by-side, but probably not enough to determine a preference. So then it’s a convenience and environmental thing just as much as anything else.

great alternative to paper discs

Great alternative to paper filter discs.
Excellent customer service too.
However the steel disc doesn't look like the item in the photos for some reason, there's no steel reinforcement ring round the periphery , nor is there a black ring round the periphery either (like one of the photos) - maybe the erroneous photos should be removed,maybe they refer to earlier design iterations?

Lastly the disc is perhaps a millimetre too small, the original paper discs fit perfectly in the holder, this steel one is just a tad smaller.

That being said the disc works perfectly in place of the paper ones.

Recommended

I've used both the paper filters and the metal ones - I think the coffee flavour is better with the stainless steel filter, plus it's easy to rinse and re-use and saves ordering more paper filters. If you are travelling and have limited washing up facilities, paper filters are handy, otherwise it's metal every time for me.

Work brilliantly, easy to clean, and no danger of running out of paper filters!

Great product

Been using these filters for a while now and they're great, just as good as the paper ones but obviously reusable. Hope they last a good amount of time before they have to be replaced. Would recommend.

So convenient

Bought these so I didn’t have to faff with the paper filters. Tasted great, no bits and really easy to use and clean. Just made the whole thing even easier
